custom led control interface for Melia Vienna

Upgrade of a fixed installation at “Melia Vienna”

One who visits Vienna has to see the famous international hotel near the Danube river – the “Meliá Vienna” (https://www.57melia.com)

Designed by star architect Dominique Perrault, the 250m high building can be seen from kilometers away, giving visitors a breathtaking view all over the city from their restaurant at the 57th floor.

The Meliá Vienna uses latest technology for the rooms as well as for the meeting areas and even at the restaurants and bars. This is why the restaurant & lounge at the entrance of the building – called “Flow” – has a huge 36m wide LED installation made of RGB bars combined with design elements to make them look like waves running across the wall.

Our job was to replace the old control system with a new state of the art customized user interface.

New intuitive custom tablet interface

The customer wanted to have individual control over the in total 86 RGB bars – divided in 2 universes of 43 bars per each.

As the system had to be reliable and of best quality, we chose products from our partners at Visual productions (www.visualproductions.nl) who are also supplier of major theme parks in USA, Japan, South Korea, Germany and France.

We programmed 3 different scenes (breakfast, lunch, dinner) that change according to the actual daytime. To have total control of the colors on the wall, we also added a “manual mode” with different scenes that can be controlled via custom tablet interface.

If you want to see the system in action go visit Meliá Vienna, which as well can be rented for company events.
